Archipelago Collective presents their 12th Annual Chamber Music Festival! September 11th - 13th, 2026 *Located at multiple venues For the first time, the Archipelago Collective is thrilled to bring their 12th Annual Chamber Music Festival to San Juan Community Theatre! Returning to San Juan Island from September 11th to 13th, the Archipelago Collective will perform at multiple venues, including SJCT, the SJI Museum of Art, and Brickworks, giving their audience a unique variety of chamber music experiences. Since 2014, Archipelago Collective’s mission has been to bring world-class chamber music to San Juan Island, providing a creative retreat for our musicians and a unique and enriching experience for our audience. Archipelago Collective's vision is to be an integral part of the rich artistic community on San Juan Island. Their annual chamber music festival provides world-class musicians the time and freedom to explore small ensemble music and delve into the creative process. Throughout the week, they perform in various venues on SJI at which intimacy and interaction with the audience are foremost. Our world-class musicians gather on San Juan Island from around the world to draw inspiration from the stunning natural surroundings, deeply engage in the process of making music, and share in the experience with the community.

The San Juan County Parks and Fair Department is planning a handful of events this summer to mark the centennial celebration at Odlin County Park. On April 17, 1926, 63 acres of abandoned military reserve land, now known as Odlin County Park, was sold from the federal government to San Juan County. Three years later, an additional 22 acres was purchased by William T. Odlin and then donated to the park, which now bears his name. And in 2017 an additional 103 acres was added to the park, making it what we know today! We invite you to join us this summer as we celebrate 100 years of Odlin being a public park. All events will take place in the park and are free for the public to attend. We hope to see you there! Fun fact: there are exactly 100 days between the first free event and the last! Event Calendar: June 18 – Take a Hike with the Lopez Community Trails Network (LCTN) Explore over 2 miles of hiking trails throughout the park! June 21 – No-Host Car and Motorcycle Show Lean into nostalgia and show off your vintage vehicles! July 11 - Pickup Baseball and Softball Games with Lopez Rec Bring your gear and celebrate with America’s favorite pastime! August 1 - A Night of Park History and Stories with the Lopez Museum Immerse yourself in the history of Odlin County Park! September 12 – Polar Plunge with the Lopez Swim Center Invigorate yourself with a dip in the ocean! September 26 – Free Camping Day - As a thank you for helping Odlin reach 100 years, we invite you to enter our online free camping lottery ! Visit the Lopez Farmers Market to find island-grown vegetables, fruit, and flowers, as well as island-produced food products such as jams, chutneys, pickles, fresh fudge, seafood, natural grass-fed meats, and more. You'll also be able to purchase a wide variety of arts and crafts including jewelry, soaps, healing oils and salves, glass art, textiles, art prints, photography, furniture, metal works, etc.—all by local artisans. The market runs seasonally on Saturdays (and July 4th!) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. near the Lopez Center for Community & the Arts. The Lopez Market starts in mid-May and ends in mid-September.

Every Saturday, April through October, 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. You can find the market at the historic Brickworks community center, just two blocks from the ferry landing. The Market is open every Saturday, April through October from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm. In November, December and March the market is open on the 1st and the 3rd Saturday. January-February, the market is open on the first Saturday of each month. Walk around the SJI Farmers Market on Saturdays at Brickworks in Friday Harbor, from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm. Listen to lively, local music, and shop for island-grown flowers, eggs, produce, meat, fruit, cheese, and more. The San Juan Island Farmers Market also hosts a wide range of talented, local artists and community organizations each week. Also, don’t miss the prepared food vendors that bring market customers delicious items like freshly baked goods, San Juan Sea Salt, and! *EBT / Food Stamps are accepted at the SJI Farmers Maret* Swipe your EBT card at the manager's booth (inside Brickworks building) in exchange for market tokens. The Orcas Island Farmers Market is open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm every Saturday from the first weekend in May to the last weekend of September on the Village Green in the heart of Eastsound. All Items sold in the market are grown or crafted by Orcas Island farmers and artisans. The market includes produce, much of it organic, crafts, art, jewelry, clothing, pottery, food and drink vendors, and some of Orcas Island’s service organizations (historical museum, master gardeners). Everyone is welcome. Parking is where you find it. Public restrooms are available on the park grounds. Leashed dogs are permitted. Stay tuned for our live music line-up for 2026!

Laura Yeats - Form Follows Nature September 5–30 Artist Reception: Saturday, September 12 at 4 PM This September, Orcas Art Barn is pleased to present new work by Laura Yeats, a woodturner and artist whose practice begins where a tree’s life ends. The exhibition will place a special focus on FUNCTIONAL art—beautiful objects created to be LIVED with and used. Alongside Laura’s hand-turned bowls, vessels, sculptural forms, the exhibition will include FURNITURE by Island woodworkers Mark Mayer and Matthew O’Brien, as well as a selection of vintage chairs from Smörgåsbord.

On Saturday, September 12, Long Live the Kings (LLTK) is hosting our annual Return of the Kings Celebration to welcome our iconic Chinook salmon back as they return home to spawn at Glenwood Springs on Orcas Island. The free community event will run from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. LLTK welcomes attendees of all ages to the celebration. This year, the event will have a dedicated area for children’s activities. We’re excited to introduce young salmon stewards to the wonder of salmon returns and to inspire guests of every generation to connect with our region’s keystone species. Formed in early 2021, Barcode was created to please those in need of the live sounds of the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s rock, Motown and rhythm and blues! Carefully chosen, rarely heard rock tunes by Bob Seger, Elton John, Joe Cocker, Heart, and Journey performed by some of the best well known San Juan Islands musicians will be sure to make you feel like you have entered a musical time warp! This event is outdoors with limited seating. Outside food, picnic blankets, and low-profile lawn chairs are welcome.
